Nursing in Australia and New Zealand

Nursing applications for New Zealand and Australia

Unfortunately places like Australia and New Zealand offer nurses a better work life balance, higher salaries and generally better weather than in the UK.  As a result, we are seeing nurses emigrating from the UK in their droves.

Frequently, nurses apply to work as a nurse in New Zealand and then transfer that nursing registration to Australia as it is an easier route than applying to work in Australia directly.  This has been my experience with Indian nationals that are living and working in the UK.  This means that there will be two lots of application fees and there can be delays of around 6-8 months to get everything sorted.

At each stage, AHPRA or CGFNS will ask for certified copies of documents such as nursing education certificates, passports, British residency cards, and proofs of address etc.  AHRPRA will only accept notarised copies of these document.  Sadly, if you use a solicitor or other third party, you risk the certified copy being rejected and your application being delayed.

Nursing applications form a surprisingly large proportion of the work that I do and as a result, I have the experience to understand your needs to get this sorted.

In order to arrange for me to produce the notarised copies for you, I first need to see the original documents in order to verify their authenticity.  Where a copy of a degree certificate is required, I will frequently check that this was validly awarded with the university.  This ensures that the relevant immigration authority and anyone else in receipt of the copy document can rely on the document as a copy of a degree certificate that was validly awarded.

As the documents need to be uploaded to the relevant portals, I will provide you with scans of the certified copies for your ease.
