Indian High Commission - Update

The Indian High Commission has recently updated its practice regarding Biometric Residence Permits.

For Powers of Attorney being submitted to the Indian High Commission, it typically required proof of visa if you do not hold a UK passport. This was done by including a certified copy of a Biometric Residence Permit card.

As you may be aware, Biometric Residentice Permits are in the process of being phased out in the UK. Originally, the Government wanted to end the scheme on 31 December 2024 but this has now been extended to March 2025.

Now, however, you need to login to your eVisa account and provide a certified copy of the visa status instead. If you do not include these copies, there is a risk that the Consular Officers reject your documents.

If you need any help or clarification with these documents, do not hesitate to get in touch.
